Wonderful location and quite an excellent value (Lucked out on a special rate I am thinking). Room was quieter than I thought it would be considering the busy location. Very clean room and very friendly staff.

Not really anything major to complain about-- hot water was a little slow in coming sometimes, and would have been nice to have an in-room coffeemaker.

Hotel did not have the room that I booked so I had to settle for 2 twin beds instead of queen.

Well functioning Hotel at a good place in San Francisco.

The isolation is quite poor and the heating did not work the first night. Rest was very nice.

Close to Gay Pride venue, other than that, don't stay there! It is a tired, tired hotel that could be fab with a makeover.

Safe and bedside table lamp broken, one lift constantly broken, paltry excuse for tea and coffee machine in the lobby broken. Could be awesome, but needs a good clean and some new life breathed into it. And... There was a shooting outside our hotel on account of the homeless and disenfranchised folk who hang out nearby.

The carpet was new and very cool looking. The bathroom was clean and vintage- ish. Can't beat the close proximity right on Market St.

There was some bums hanging around late at night when my wife and I got back to the hotel. Nothing too scary, just a little sketchy

although my room faced market street, the room was remarkably very quiet. everything was very clean and well maintained and it appears the hotel jsut finished an upgrade of the interior spaces

    Cheap rooms

Lots of bug beds attacking you every night, even if you switch rooms. Very loud at night, as most rooms face Market Street in a very dodgy area. I couldn't feel safe in that area.

Awesome staff, genuinely concerned for the comfort of guests.

Currently a construction zone around the hotel. Noisey most mornings.

This Hotel was not even close to how it was descrived on line, location was the worst , a complete nightmear.Throught the night all you hear was either the police making arrest or Ladies of the night and their "Business Partners" making deals, this went on all night every night. Place was soDefenately not a safe or recomended for Family trips. The hotel does not have heat/or air, coffe maker, refrigerator or vending machines do not work/or not filled not even able to get some watter, this place is so old and rundown that in order to get warm we had to sleep all of us in one bad. every time someones flushes the toilet the shower made enough noise to scare the haviest person.

This Hotel was not nearly how it was discribed on line. It is a rundown, not being updated in many years, do not have heat/air, refrigatators, coffee maker, to take the bad smell from the room you need to open the windows Between the cops making arrest constantly and, or the Ladies of the night and their "Business Partners" making deals made it imposible to get any rest. Just glad we were able to be unharmed. One of the worst experiences ever.!!!!!!

The location was great to walk to shopping and dining. The hotel staff was helpful.

Shower made a lot if noise and not a very good shower head......but thankful there was hot water.

the staff was very very friendly and helpful. i liked the room which was well cleaned everyday. Apart from the main street where the hotel is located, which is full of homelesses, the location is very confortable and you can reach by walk most of the city attractions. This hotel is for city people who are not scared of suburban atmosphere.

    good staff,clean,good location

the carpets and sofas(including the ones in the reception) coverings are too old for ahotel they need change.resturant within the hotel with menue that suits different budgets is important.small fridge in the room will be helpful.

We were very disappointed in the noise outside, the unsafe feeling of the neighborhood, and the lack of air conditioning. We will not choose this hotel again and will not recommend it to others. The staff was very gracious however.

Within walking distance to Union Square, clean rooms, staff were friendly, but not all that helpful.

Right on the main road, very noisy, especially at night... Sirens and people screaming. Seedy area, we were 2 females travelling, and we didnt wanna go out after dark here.... Bit scary. No airconditioning & no wifi :(

It was an old hotel with lots of character. Felt old-timey!

The neighborhood was a little scary. Not terrible, just a little.
